Tata Motors is preparing for yet another big launch this year: the Tata Sierra EV. The brand has just dropped a new teaser that shows off the production-spec design of the upcoming electric SUV ahead of its grand unveiling on November 25, 2025. Sierra EV will be an important milestone for Tata Motors as it brings back an iconic nameplate but with a modern, all-electric twist.

Tata Motors showcased the Sierra EV concept for the first time at the Auto Expo and created a buzz among enthusiasts fond of the brand’s classic SUV from the 1990s. The latest teaser now gives a clearer look at the production-spec model, confirming that the electric SUV would retain much of its distinctive styling while adopting modern design cues
The new Tata Sierra EV comes with a design language similar to that of its ICE counterpart. It carries an upright and muscular stance, reflecting its rugged DNA. The front fascia is highlighted by a full-width LED DRL running across the bonnet to give it a futuristic look.
One of the most striking design features is its closed-off front grille, denoting its electric nature, while showcasing the Tata logo proudly at the center. Below, the sleek headlamp units are positioned low, aiding in an imposing and aggressive front look. The SUV also features a silver-finished skid plate, adding a muscular SUV appeal to it.
The Sierra EV is boxy at its side, with clean lines and a floating roof design. The flush-fitting door handles improve the aerodynamics and add sophistication. But most importantly, the rear glass panel echoes the original Sierra’s signature window design-a nice touch which links back the past to the future. The new alloy wheel design adds a further premium and futuristic feel, fittingly mixing style with function.
Though the rear profile remains partially hidden, the teaser indicates an upright rear stance and connected LED tail lamps, which is in line with Tata’s latest design philosophy, as seen from the concepts like Curvv and Harrier EV.
Tata Motors has already confirmed that Sierra will come in both ICE and EV forms. The electric variant will be introduced after the introduction of the petrol/diesel model. Though not much about the features of the company is disclosed, sources close to the industry hinted that the Sierra EV might borrow some technologies from the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV.
Speculation has it that the SUV will be offered in two different battery options: a 55 kWh pack on the standard variant and a larger 65 kWh battery pack on the long-range version. This setup could offer some serious driving ranges, together with fast-charging capability, to make the Sierra EV one of the most capable electric SUVs in its class.
The Tata Sierra EV may see a market introduction shortly after the ICE variant’s arrival in early 2026. With Tata Motors gaining strong momentum in the EV space recently with models like the Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and Punch EV, the Sierra EV will be the brand’s full-fledged flagship electric SUV.
With its mix of retro design inspiration, modern technology, and sustainable performance, the Sierra EV has the potential to redefine the Premium Electric SUV segment in India.
Therefore, the return of the Tata Sierra as an electric SUV represents the vision of Tata Motors toward the future: a blend of heritage and innovation. While leading India’s EV revolution, Sierra EV stands as a bold statement of design and technology with sustainability.
And now, car and EV enthusiasts can circle their calendars for November 25, 2025, as Tata reveals what could be its most iconic electric vehicle yet.
